Actress. Born Elsa Nilda Gomez Scapatti, she was well known in both television and "the big screen" in Argentina from the 1950s to the 1980s. She got first noticed in 1953 when she won first prize in the Radio El Mundo "Miss Sonrisa 1953" contest. She made her acting debut a year later in the film "El abuelo". In the later half of the 1950s, she became a part of the group of actresses that the press dubbed "las ingenuas". During this period she appeared in such films as "Vida nocturna" (1955) and "Graciela" (1956). She would go on to appear in such films as "La casa del Angel" (1957), "La caida" (1959), La mano en la trampa" (1961), and "El romance del Aniceto y la Francisca" (1967). She also appeared in many television series during her career including such credits as "Tres destinos", "Matrimonios y algo más", "Mi hijo Rasputín", "Una promesa para todos", "María, María y María", and "Matrimonios y algo más. She also appeared in various theater productions during her career. She retired from the acting profession in 1987. During her career she was awarded the Best Actress Silver Condor in 1967 for her work in "El romance del Aniceto y la Francisca. In 2003 she was awarded the Career Condor for her career in the Argentine cinema. She passed away after a series of health complications.
