Elmer married 1st Ida Ruth Dingmon on Oct. 13, 1886 in Klickitat County, Washington per "Washington, Marriage Records, 1865-2004". They had 5 children. Eldon Hinshaw, Wilma Hinshaw Spalding, Cora Hinshaw Richardson, and Amy Hinshaw Bridgefarmer, and Anne Hinshaw Hamilton. After her death he married Almeda Baker on July 27, 1898 in Grenville, Ontario, Canada. They moved to Goldendale and had one child, Ida. Again a widower, he married Mary Harriet Gunn on Feb 17, 1903 in Pine Forest, Klickitat, Washington. They had one child Kenneth Gunn Hinshaw.
