New York Times (Dec 8, 1908) - Henry Baerer, a sculptor, 71 years old, of 752 Jennings Street, the Bronx, who died suddenly of heart disease on Monday at his home, was the author of several works of art which adorn the city. One of the most familiar of them is the statue of Beethoven in Central Park. Another is a statue of Gen. Fowler in Fort Green Park. His statue of Gen. Warren stands at the entrance to Prospect Park, Brooklyn, and in the park is a statue of John Howard Payne which he designed. He did considerable work on the Dewey Arch also.
Mr. Baerer was born in Munich, coming to this country after finishing his college course. His widow, who was his wife, and a son and daughter survive him. The body will be cremated. Remains returned to Brecht Funeral Home 12/10/1908
