Mary Kathryn Babylon, age 87, of New Windsor, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her home.
Born April 10, 1929, near Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Katharine Shaeffer Warner.
She was the wife of the late G. Graham Babylon, who died in 2011.
Mrs. Babylon was a 1946 graduate of Manchester High School and a 1949 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She was formerly employed with the Carroll County Health Department for five years and was active with her husband in the family business, Babylon Vault Company.
She was a life member of Lazarus United Church of Christ, Lineboro and had attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, New Windsor. She was a member of the Door to Virtue Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Westminster. She enjoyed outdoors, skiing, golfing, rock and roll, traveling and attending vault company conventions with her husband.
Surviving are daughter, Donna R. Babylon of Westminster; grandsons, Max and Ben Babylon, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Babylon, all of Agoura Hills, CA; one niece, three nephews and several great-nieces.
She was predeceased by her son, Guy G. Babylon; and brothers, William F. Warner and wife, Wanda and George S. Warner and wife, Maggie.
Friends may call at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, on Friday, May 27 from 6 to 9 p.m.
A private graveside service will be held in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood, with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Pallbearers will be David Warner, Allen Warner, Johnny Krebs, Francis Stepanek, David Bollinger and Jeff Zumbrun. Honorary bearers will be June Hale and Evelyn "Dolly" Krebs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus United Church of Christ, c/o Kate Warner, 5101 S. Church St., Lineboro, MD 21102 (please reference on memo line: for the stained glass window fund).
