Miss Emma Berthelote was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, Michigan having come to Monroe from Ohio, as a baby. She was the daughter of the late Judge Victor J. and Victoria Berthelote. Her home was at 12 West Vine Street, in the city of Monroe, Mi. She attended St. Mary's parochial school and St. Mary's Academy and for many years was a saleslady at Mitchell's store. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and St. Mary's Church.

Emma had been ill for two years, with the last month of her life spent in the University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan. She was survived by a brother, two sisters, and for nieces to mourn her loss. Services were held from St. Mary's Catholic Church.
