Queen of Tahiti, succeeding her brother in 1827. Daughter of King Pōmare II and Queen Teri'i'to-oterai.

She entered into a treaty of eternal peace and friendship with France on September 4, 1838. She excepted protection by France and accepted a new treaty with the King of France.

Succeeded in reuniting Ra'iatea and Bora Bora into the kingdom of Tahiti with the help of France in 1857.

She also amended the line of succession in 1875.
