Jazz Musician. Real name Irving Sidney Jordan. He was a pianist who was widely credited with helping establish the 'Bebop' music genre. During the 194's, Jordan was part of a quartet which featured such music legends as Charlie "Bird" Parker, Miles Davis and Max Roach. Their union produced such classic tunes as "Embraceable You" and "Scrapple from the Apple". He would also work with other jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins and Stan Getz. During the 1950s, Jordan gained further acclaim as a solo artist and recorded many albums including "Flight to Jordan", (1960) and "Flight to Denmark", (1973). He was married to jazz singer Sheila Jordan. He had been residing in Denmark since the late 1970s.
