Duff McIntosh, well known native of this county, died in the Indian hospital at Talihina early Sunday. Although he had suffered a stroke earlier this year, he had been active recently, until he was stricken last weekend. Mr. McIntosh was a member of the family for whom this county was named. He was born at Fame 74 years ago. His early education was at the old Eufaula Boarding school for boys. Later he attended Southwest Baptist University in Tennessee; Bacone college at Muskogee and a military school at Ft. Worth, Texas. Most of his life Mr. McIntosh was a farmer, but he also was employed in government service and worked as a chef in California during World War II. Services under the direction of Kelley funeral home were held at the Big Arbor Church Monday, with Dr. Frank Blevins, missionary to the Creeks officiating. Burial was in Eufaula cemetery. Mr. McIntosh is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pat Highland, Vinita and Mrs. C. S. Boteler, Muskogee; one brother, William Y. McIntosh, Fairland.
