Actor. With The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen from 1939 to 1950 and again from 1954 to 1955. Active in the Danish resistance movement during the German occupation of Denmark from 1940 to 1945. He had to escape to England where he was trained as a parachute agent with the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Royal Buffs, Special Forces Mission. From 1950 to 1954 he lived in London making guest appearances on the stage and appearing on radio and television before returning to Denmark. He appeared in 20 Danish films. In England he was cast in the films "Tales of Hoffmann" (1951), "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (1956), and "Private Potter" (1962). In 1962 he was engaged by The Old Vic's Theatre in London to play the part of Antonio in Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice", but died a few days before the opening night.
