Her husband was killed in a railroad accident at a young age and is buried in Spring City, Utah. They had 15 children.


Salina - Mrs Hettie Allred was laid at rest Thursday afternoon in the east cemetery, following funeral services in the Second ward chapel. As musical numbers at the services, A. C. played a violin solo and J. C. Jensen sang "Going Home." J. C. of Redmond and Miss Stena were the speakers. Brief remarks were also made by members of the local camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, of which she was the first chaplain.


Mrs. Allred was born in Hancock county, Iowa, November 13, 1845, and died March 7 in Salt Lake at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. A. Burch. Mrs. Allred came to Sanpete county in 1861. There she married Stephen Allred, and after his death she moved to Salina, which was her home for 40 years. The past two years of her life were spent in Salt Lake with her daughter.
