Professional baseball player. He played for the Illinois Giants in 1909 and the Chicago American Giants and Chicago Leland Giants in 1911. Goliah enlisted in the U.S. military on August 31, 1914, and served in the 25th Regiment of the U.S. Infantry, one of four African-American regular army units cre­ated after the Civil War. There, he played infield and outfield and served as captain for the famous 25th Infantry Wreckers baseball team from 1914 to 1918, playing alongside legendary players Oscar "Heavy" Johnson, Dobie Moore, and Bullet Joe Rogan. He also led his own club, the Goliah's Thunderbolts, during games in Hawaii. When the Chicago Giants joined the newly-established Negro National League in 1920, Goliah played as a reserve outfielder. He had a .303 documented batting average across 34 documented Black baseball games and hit .280 in 105 documented games with the Wreckers.
