William was survived by his wife, the former Lucy Huguenin, whom he married on 25 April 1916 in Charleston, S.C.

"WILLIAM BALL FOSTER SERVICES TO BE AT 11 A.M. TODAY — Funeral services for William Ball Foster, of 13 Rutledge Ave., will take place at 11 a.m. today at St. Philip's Protestant Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Marshall E. Travers officiating. Burial, conducted by Connelley's, will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Foster died Thursday at a local infirmary. Born in Charleston Nov. 20, 1888, he was a son of John Ernest Foster, of Charleston, and Mrs. Sarah Leonora Bailey Foster, of Edisto Island. He was vice president of Charleston Constructors, Inc., and was a member of the Carolina Yacht Club and St. Philip's Church. Pallbearers will be Robert H. Hemphill, of Summerville; John B. Chisolm, Thomas A. Huguenin, Edward D. Clement, Henry C. Cheves III, Cambridge M. Trott, Jr., Cornelius Huguenin, and E. Darrell Jervey. Survivors are his widow, the former Miss Lucy Huguenin; a daughter, Lucy Foster Gaillard; three grandsons — William Foster and Thomas H. and J. Palmer Gaillard III; a sister, Mrs. H. C. Cheves, Jr.; and two brothers, Osma B. Foster, of Jacksonville, and Josh B. Foster, of Mount Pleasant." (The News and Courier, Charleston, S.C., 14 June 1952, p. 2, col. 8.)
