Last Duke of Mantua and Montferrat, Duke of Guastalla, Duke de Nevers, Duke de Rethel - as Carlo IV. Born in Mantua as the only child of Carlo II Gonzaga of Nevers and Isabella Klara of Austria. He married Anna Caterina Gonzaga in 1670 and in 1704 Suzanne Henriette de Lorraine. He was buried in Padua, his head was placed in the Gonzaga vault in 2002.
