Tibbetts – December 14, 1937, in Buffalo, Martha, sister of Walter C. Tibbetts, Charles M. Tibbetts and aunt of Mrs. Fred Schneckenburger of Warsaw NY. Funeral services at 1500 Main Street on Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Friends are invited to attend.

The death of Miss Martha Tibbetts occurred on December 14, 1937, ending her residence at the Home for 11 years. She was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, and at her request, Dr. Ralph B. Hindman had charge of the service. Miss Ralston of the choir sang "Face to Face", a chosen favorite of Miss Tibbetts. She was 74 at the time of her death and although she was asked to share a family lot in Warsaw NY, she expressed the desire to be buried in the Home Lot at Forest Lawn. Miss Tibbetts had an alert mind, and was well posted on current happenings in the world and always most interested in programs. She was loyal to the Home and though in frail health most of the time, she always enjoyed activities as well as the safety that she found there.

One death this month was unexpected, as Miss Martha Tibbetts came to the supper table as usual Monday evening, but when she failed to appear at breakfast the following morning, the nurses investigated and found her unconscious in bed. Dr. Wadsworth was called and pronounced it a cerebral hemorrhage. She did not regain consciousness, but expired at 9:45 Tuesday evening. Rev. R B Hindman officiated at her funeral and Miss Ralston of the First Presbyterian Church choir sang "Face to Face". Interment was in the Home Lot at forest Lawn. Johnson & Wilkins officiating.

Martha was a resident of the Home for the Friendless (now known as the Bristol Home), 1500 Main Street, Buffalo, NY.

In the 1930 Federal Census Martha was listed as 67 years of age, born in NYS.

Martha was born in Warsaw NY to John C. Tibbetts and Harriet Carson. She was single. She died at her late residence, the Home for the Friendless, 1500 Main St. She was 74 years, 6 months, 29 days. Cause of death: Cerebral Apoplexy.
