Ruth B. Nichols, 78, died at 1:45 p.m. Tues at St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, IN, following an extended illness.
Nichols was a former bank employee with Federal Land Bank & Farmers & Merchant Bank, and a member of New Troy America Legion Auxiliary.
She was born Feb 9, 1909, in South Bend, Ind., and lived her lifetime in the area. On Dec. 29, 1929, she married Reuben Nichols who died in 1950.
Survivors include: a son, Myron "Nick" Nichols; brother, Martin Mensinger; sister, Doris Casper; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
