Born January 6, 1914 to Annie Lee Daly. Third of five children (2 younger stepbrothers, older sister and brother). Moved to Detroit around 1930, lived with his aunt and uncle on Detroit's west side, working as a janitor in a hotel in 1940, before enlisting in the US Army, serving between 1941 and 1945. After returning home, he married Willa Brunson in June 1947. Three daughters were born from this union: Janis, Linda and Lisbeth. Retired from General Motors in 1979. Died on February 23, 2002, almost a year to the day after his wife, Willa. Leaves behind three daughters, seven grandchildren (1 grandson, 6 granddaughters), one great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews and cousins.
