81, of Southgate, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East. He was a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. He was past faithful navigator of Bishop Flaget Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was the former financial secretary for Monsignor Lehr Council Knights of Columbus.
He was a charter member of the Southgate Ambulance Service and a member of St. Therese Holy Name Society, Southgate. A daughter, Rosemary Schnecker, died Sept. 23.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Gripshover Theis; daughters, Betty Pary of Louisville and Joann Wade of Alexandria; sons, Howard Theis, William Theis and Thomas Theis, all of Southgate; sisters, Wilma Boyd of Ft. Wright and Gladys Edwards of San Diego; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Therese Church, Southgate, with prayers at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.
