Our beloved James "Jay" Manuel Luján, age 58, of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 1, 2014.
Jay was born in Santa Fé, NM on April 12, 1956 to Jean Couchman Luján and Manuel Luján.
Jay is survived by his parents and four siblings, Terra Everett (Jeffrey), Barbara Luján, Jeff Luján and Noah Luján, four nieces, Tiffany Knight (David), Jessica Davis (Jared), Amy Everett and Christiana Luján, one grand-niece, Rhiannon Davis and one grand-nephew, Douglas Davis, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jay served his country honorably, retiring after 20 years in the Air National Guard. Jay worked at the Manuel Luján Agency alongside his extended family and later as a security guard for the Tanoan Country Club and for the residents of Tanoan. Jay loved to play the accordion and the piano. Jay was always the life of the party when the family gathered together. Jay played in a country western band, Sagebrush, and was a member of the praise team at AZUZA, Assembly of God Church for several years.
A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at French – Lomas, Albuquerque, NM. Friends may visit beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will be at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 1:30 p.m. following the mass.
