A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
Steve was born on April 16th, 1959 in Rochester, Monroe County, NY , to Mr. and Mrs.John and Flo DeMallie.
He grew up and attended school in Loveland, Colorado. He also attended the University of Northern Colorado before moving to Alaska in 1980.
Steve was an avid professional outdoorsman. Everyone who knew him would know that if he was not home he was either fishing, hunting or guiding. Steve owned / operated Steve's Taxidermy for 30 years. His work was some of the best around and in the world as was demonstrated by the numerous competitions he won for his taxidermy. He was also a professional brown bear and dall sheep guide for the past 25 years.
His son John DeMallie was his pride and joy. He coached his little league baseball team from the time John was 8 until he was 17 yrs old. He also loved to share his passion for fishing, hunting and hiking with his son.
Steve is survived by his son, John DeMallie of Soldotna, AK; parents, John and Flo DeMallie of Loveland, Colorado; brothers, Bob DeMallie of Anchorage, Alaska and Mike DeMallie of Loveland, Colorado, and former wife and longtime friend Lisa Groleske of California. He was preceded in death by his sister Cindy DeMallie.
Steve will be dearly missed by many.
