Earl J. Schreier, 85, Independence, died Jan. 23, 1992, at the Independence Regional Health Center. He was born in Corder, Mo., and lived in Boonville, Mo., before moving to this area in 1943. Mr. Schreier was a groundskeeper for the Kansas City School District for 26 years, retiring as a foreman in 1971. He was a member of Local 12 of the Building Service Employees Union. He was a Marine veteran and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons, Roger Schreier and Robert Schreier of Independence; a brother, Arnold Schreier, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Carson Independence Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Lutheran High School of Kansas City or the church's improvement fund.
