LaVoyle was born on February 7, 1920 to Lewis Earl and Delphia Mae Pettey in Castle Gate, Carbon County Utah. LaVoyle was exceptionally devoted to her step-mother Helen Acord after her own mother passed away and her father remarried. LaVoyle graduated from Carbon High School in 1938 and was a member of the first class to attend Carbon Jr. College.
LaVoyle met the love of her life, Ted Reese, and they were married August 16, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
She is survived by her brother Dale Acord, Salt Lake City, UT; three children; daughter Susan Dianne Reese, Salt Lake City, UT; son, Thomas Lewis Reese (Suzanne), Scottsdale AZ; and daughter Paula Hale (Kevin), Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. LaVoyle also deeply loved her two nieces Nancy Powell and Terri Gamer whom she counted as additional daughters.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved and greatly appreciated her fellow ward members of the Willow Creek 9th Ward where she and Ted attended church for well over 30 years. LaVoyle and Ted were called to serve in the Salt Lake Mission Office which was one of the most cherished memories of their lifetime.
LaVoyle had a thriving career as a Realtor from 1970 to 1995. She was a member of the Million Dollar Club numerous times during her career. Young first time home buyers were her favorite clients, resulting in lasting friendships.
One of the greatest learning experiences LaVoyle had was the time she began working with a hearing impaired ward and there learned sign language. She then helped produce a musical production with her new friends.
