Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on January 2, 1910, Gertrude was the daughter of Rhoda (Younglove) and Anthony J. Placek. In 1929, she married Thomas Leonard Manly in Chicago, Illinois. She had been employed by Ben Hur Insurance Company in the records department.
Mrs. Manly was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Manly, in 1967; a son, Philip T. Manly; and a grandson, Mi-
chael S. Manly.
Survivors include a son, Donald Manly and wife, Nadine "Dean", of Abilene; a granddaughter, Kris Ann Griffith and husband, Michael, of Fort Worth; and five great-grandchildren of Fort Worth and Colorado.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity.
