Doris Winn Fisher was an interesting person. She used to ride out in the hills with her father on her pony, which was just a horse. Back in those days they called them ponies.

Doris had a Ring-tail Monkey who rode on the back of her horse behind her. She carried a rifle everywhere she went on that pony. She could be seen shooting rabbit and other wild critters just for sport.

She was much the character as a child. Doris had bright copper penny red hair that shone like the sun. She was a very expressive woman with spunk and curiosity, yet at the same time carried herself with refinement.

She was from a family of mining attorneys. Doris was a very classy woman, who once married to her husband, kept and managed an immaculate home.

Doris was a long standing P.E.O member, and along with others one of the founding women within the Boise Basin.

Doris had a son and daughter. Her son's name was Sherman Leroy Coffin. Her daughter's name was Elizabeth Jane Van Manen.
