Professional Hockey Player. A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Thoms played the position of Center for teams in the NHL, IHL, OHA-Jr., TMHL, OHA-Sr., M-Cup, and the TIHL hockey leagues. At 5'10, and 168lbs, Thoms played for the Newmarket Redmen from 1928 to 1929, West Toronto Nationals from 1929 to 1930, Toronto Marlboros from 1930 to 1932, Toronto Eaton's from 1931 to 1932, Syracuse Stars from 1931 to 1933, Toronto Maple Leafs from 1932 to 1939, Chicago Blackhawks from 1938 to 1946, and the Toronto Maher Jewels from 1947 to 1948. Thoms passed away from a heart attack in Toronto, Ontario, on September 26, 1964, at the age of 54.
