Juslibol Cemetery
Juslibol Cemetery, managed by the Zaragoza City Council, is located in the NE of the Juslibol neighborhood, in the City of Zaragoza, in a higher and more ventilated area. Its floor plan next to the rectangle, extended in one of its angles by adaptation to the terrain, has an area of 2,331.31 m2 and is the result of the incorporation of the original plan from 1888 with the two subsequent extensions already mentioned.
The 1880 Cemetery, the original nucleus of the current one, had a square plan of 34.5 x 34.5 (1,190.25 m2). Its space was divided into four squares with two walkways or cross streets and another perimeter. In the center of the rear wall was the Deposit and the Ossuary, at the end of the main walkway that starts from the main door, a structure that has been maintained after the extensions. The original portal from 1888 is also preserved. It has a tripartite composition, in a wide lowered arch flanked by pillars. It is executed in exposed brick that is used as a closing and ornamental element in a style of historicist inspiration, typical of Magdalena and similar to the one he projects for some other neighborhood and very different from the one he projects for the extension to the Civil Cemetery, with a classicist air , using styles with a speaking character: historicisms for the Catholic cemetery and classicism for the civilian.
The cemetery is planned with graves on the ground, the lack of space that is already evident at the beginning of the 20th century, they will gradually occupy most of the space with blocks of niches in the space of the paintings and around the inner perimeter of the enclosure . However, the pantheons of the Sesé and Marín families are preserved, together and with similar formal characteristics, with a simple cross with a halo, and the polygonal enclosure of the Deposit and old ossuary, in addition to a few tombs on the ground, some paired and surrounded by more or less artistic locksmith enclosure. Pantheons of the Sesé (1905) and Marín (1914) families.
