He was a manager of Roadrunner Video on Clara Avenue, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Chapel Hill United Church of Christ. Survivors: sons Gregory L., Jeff A. & Kevin W. Herbig; a daughter, Kimberly M. Herbig; his parents, George E. Sr. & Ora Herbig; a brother, William C. Herbig; a sister, Madeleine L. St. Clair; and four granddaughters. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Monday, W.G. Hardy Valley, 10907 Dixie Highway. Burial: Bethany. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday.
