KEARNEY - Norman W. "Norm" Buesing, 72, of Kearney died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Services were at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rob Kuef-ner officiating. Burial will be later.

He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Yorktown, Iowa, to August and Alma (Meier) Buesing.

On Dec. 30, 1962, he married Farah Geer in Kearney.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Annette Lane of Allen, Texas, and Amy Kinder and her husband, Jeff, of Wellford, S.C.; brothers, Arthur Buesing and his wife, LaRayne, of Fairmont, Minn., and Donald Buesing and his wife, Connie, and David Buesing and his wife, Kendi, all of Clarinda, Iowa; sisters, Alberta Smith and her husband, Jack, of Clarinda and Heida Bartz and her husband, Denny, of Villisca, Iowa; and granddaughters, Nicole and Jacqueline Lane and Katelin and Kassidy Kinder.

He was a graduate of Clarinda High School in 1957 and attended Central Community College in Clarinda, Northwest Missouri State and after moving to Kearney, the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He joined the Army National Guard and obtained the rank of second lieutenant. He was discharged May 15, 1969.

He and his wife were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. He was employed as a supervisor at West Pharmaceuti-cal Co. for 36 years until he retired in 1998. Following his retirement, he was employed at Steinbrink Landscaping and Garden Center.

He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served several years on the board of trustees.

He was preceded in death by his son, Alan, on Sept. 10, 1987; his parents; and sister, Ruth Meether.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
