Eliza married Townshend Dade Fendall 15 January 1850. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John F. Tackett. Deposited at the Alexandria Library is the 200 letter Fendall-Tackett Collection. Among them is one penned to Eliza on 17 August 1866 by Thomas G. Russell, a merchant in St. Louis. Russell was married to Eliza's sister Carrie. The letter was written the day after Carrie died from cholera. The letter, understandably, is heartfelt and poignant, the death of a dear sister announced by a grieving husband.
