Corporal in Civil War

Suggested edit: The son of Asahel & Lydia (Garretson) Walker, he married Mary Ann Secrist ca. 1858 and fathered Levi Granville (b. 01/04/59), Eva B. (b. 01/07/61), Leah Fidelia (b. 08/13/62), and Lewis Pearson (b. 04/14/64). In 1860, he was a farmer living with his family in Washington Township, York County, Pennsylvania.

A Civil War veteran, he was drafted at the stated age of twenty-six in York County October 25, 1862, mustered into federal service at York November 10 as a private with Co. H, 166th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), promoted to corporal, and honorably discharged with his company July 28, 1863, in York.

He later moved to Harrison County, Iowa, where he joined Missouri Valley's Belden Post No. 59, G.A.R. Mary Ann died in 1867, and he married Sarah Ann "Sadie" Moore, fathering Charles (b. @1869), Asahel (07/21/73), and Rosella (b. ?). He returned to Pennsylvania and died at the reported age of 64-10-28 at his home in Snyder County where he had been a member of Davis Post No. 148, G.A.R. Members of Port Trevorton's Arnold Post No. 407 also attended his funeral.
