She was born January 15 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lewis Edmund Holley and Sophrona Frandsen. She spent the first 16 years of her life in Idaho where her father had a dairy farm near Shoshone, Idaho. They moved to Layton, Utah where she was graduated from Davis High School in 1965.
After attending Weber University for two quarters, she served an LDS mission to London, England. Their first job was with the U.S. Forest Service near Portland, Oregon. Shortly thereafter, they obtained a job with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. In that employ, they first lived in Salt Lake, spent two years at Moab, Utah, returned to Salt Lake for almost four years and then took an assignment in Richfield, Utah but lived in Monroe, Utah where they resided for the next 36 years. This past June they moved to Clinton, Utah to be closer to their family and particularly their grandchildren.
The couple served an LDS Church Service Mission for several years and then a mission to Nauvoo, Illinois where they served as site missionaries.
