Joseph Janasek, son of Frank and Marie Janasek was born in Republic County Kansas, February 4, 1880, and departed this life at Belleville, May 25, 1947 at the age of 67 years, three months and 21 days.
On November 24, 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Hanel and to this union was born one son, Earl. Most of his life was spent farming on the farm his parents homesteaded two miles south of Munden. In 1935 he with his wife retired and moved to Belleville.
For the past year he has been failing in health, having suffered a heart attack, but through it all he was patient and cheerful thinking only of the welfare of those around him. All that loving hands could do was done but of no avail.
Besides his wife and son, Earl, of Munden, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Lucile; two grand-children, Marjorie and Ronald Janasek; one brother, Frank Janasek, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sisters preceded him in death, Miss Marie Janasek, being the first one that was laid to rest in New Tabor Cemetery and Mrs. Helen Hanzlick.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 28 by the Rev. Amos Rundus and the Rev. Stephen Yemm at the Presbyterian church in Belleville. Interment was in New Tabor cemetery.
