A Virtual Cemetery created by Linda Trammell

Teller Mountain (Cemetery)

Teller was a community just outside of Tishomingo, Oklahoma which is now defunct and actually part of a working ranch. There is a cemetery marker guiding you to the cemetery, as you make your way up the hill you can see to the left the remnants of the long lost community of Teller, old concrete cellars, dilapidated ruins of what was once a "main" street. This is locally known as a "Chickasaw Nation" cemetery with many early native Chickasaw people and their families buried there along with non-Chickasaw wives, allied families and other next of kin. The Chickasaw Nation stepped in (sometime in the 2000's) and added a good fence to keep the cows out who had previously toppled headstones. We all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the late Mrs. Ruby Beaver who tirelessly worked to bring this old cemetery out of the woods, cleaned it up and thanks to her help people who descend from those who are interred there are to this day being buried there again.

Linda Trammell has not added any memorials to this virtual cemetery.
