Dedicated to the crew of U.S.S. LST 1144 Commissioned 28 May 1945. My father-in-law, Eugene L. Verchio served on this ship from the day of commissioning until 8 Apr 1946 when he was transferred to Coco Solo Naval Base in the Panama Canal to be discharged at Great Lakes Naval Base. This Virtual Cemetery is dedicated to he and his friends whose names are listed in his address book.
