I have being doing my family history now for over 25 years. My dad I started it when he retired in 1990. He did an amazing amount of research and letter writing (this was before the internet :-) ) before passing away in 1995.

I have found some amazing people in our tree on both my dad and mum's side, and what is more incredible is that, my husband who is doing his family, we share two common ancestors on both sides - one in particular - William Shakespeare, who is my 1st cousin 13 times removed on my mums side and is also my husband's 7th cousin 11 times removed. So by marriage, my husband and so many cousins removed :-)
