My grandfather, Gabriel Ernest Curry born in Skidmore, Texas. My grandfather's mother was Lucinda Bates. Her maiden name was Hawkins. She married Cap Davis before marrying Abe Bates. I'm not sure if she ever married my grandfather's dad (that's a mystery I'm looking to solve). My grandfather's siblings: Odelia Elizabeth Curry Spencer, Eddie Myers, Mollie (Mary) Davis McGee, Maggie (Davis) Bess.

My grandfather's grandparents were George and Mary Curry of Rudyville Rancho, Texas. They later moved to Beeville, Bee County, Texas. Mary Curry was known in the community as Mother Curry. Some of Mary and George's children are James Curry, Susana Curry, Frank Curry, Joseph Curry and George Curry.

Mary Curry came to Texas from Tennessee as a slave. She had 12 children. George Curry was her second husband.
