I retired from a career in mechanical engineering (aircraft engines) and computer support (note my email).
I am attempting to take up the genealogical efforts of my grandparents; I was a member of Founders & Patriots based on my grandfather's membership, until they purged our lines (some were in the 1975 book).
We descend from the Princes Osgoods and Putnams of 1692 witch trials, including 3 who were jailed (1 died).
We have 6 Mayflower lines which look valid, and one more which is not an outright fabrication (but none for the relatives who gained GSMD certs).
My namesake served at Valley Forge, being a neighbor and cousin of Genl "old put" Putnam.
We have well-known southerners in our tree who served as Union officers in the Civil War (and some nearly unknown vets), and we spend much time in parts of the country where many were recruited on both sides.
I got into findagrave primarily to improve listings of relatives. Thus far I have met total cooperation. Still treading lightly to avoid raising old family arguments!
