I have been going to cemeteries for a long time.
each one has their own unique charm. Some I have visited over and over and I still finding something new and interesting.
I think it all started at Hollywood Forever in the 1990s. Back then it was basically falling apart with sunken gravestones and all kinds of plumbing issues It was pretty sad. Luckily it has changed hands, and it is beautiful.
I have visited many cemeteries in Southern California and Northern California. Tennessee. Paris, France, Palm Springs and Virginia.
If anyone has ever been to Palm Springs and visited Desert Memorial Park Cemetery you know by now Frank Sinatra and a lot of famous celebs and who's who are buried at the quaint memorial park. BUT! one of my favorites is Busby Berkeley. He used a form of Kaleidoscope performance with actresses on the silver screen usually in the 1920s in the water. This cemetery is really something and they even have maps at the office.
I am not a professional photographer or historian.
However, I do love visiting authors, movie stars, musicians from the silver screen, directors I admire and often times just take it all in. Every once and awhile I will run into a visitor in a cemetery who will tell me fascinating stories or ghost stories of what happened back in the day.

There are some interesting stories of haunted hotels, old houses and supposedly paranormal activity happening. It's interesting visiting a grave of someone that may be STILL haunting places like the Queen Mary or the Roosevelt Hotel or Kate Morgan a young woman who checked into Hotel del Coronado in 1892 – never checked out I have been there several times AND the cemetery she is buried at...very interesting.

Even Pet Cemeteries? We can't forget our pets! Or our silver screen fan favorites! Anyone ever read about Rudolph Valentinos Dog? Who is buried at the Calabasas Pet Cemetery. There is a lot of interesting stories about Kabar. Or how about Toto? How originally Toto was buried out on a ranch somewhere that is now the 101 freeway and there is a statue in honor of Terry or Toto. If anyone is in town at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, it's amazing how everyone came together and built a statue to honor the famous terrier and it's close enough to the Judy Garland Pavilion.

I try to also locate family members. Which has not been easy...

However, I do want to thank the find a grave members that have taken their own time and helped me along the way to connect my family!
