Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (Exodus 20: 12)

Behold, I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. (Section 2: 1 - 2, Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; see also Malachi 4: 6)

I was born in Arizona, but am cosmopolitan at heart (I've lived in 8 states and 4 countries). Am descended from passengers on the Mayflower, survivors of the Jamestown Massacre, New Amsterdam Dutch, Pennsylvania Deitsch, escapees of the Irish potato famine and the German religious wars, soldiers of the American and Texas Revolutions and both sides of the Civil War, all just good solid unpretentious American stock for many generations---the most recent influx of immigrant blood having been introduced four generations ago, in 1852 (Irish) and 1846 (German). Now living in southeastern Arizona on 0.001 of what was once, from 1920 to 1960, my maternal grandfather's cattle ranch, I am a professional genealogist with clients who are primarily but not exclusively members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
