Bio

Taylor/Johnson/Benton/Ranes on the paternal side of the family; Raulston/Hughes/Chick/Roach on the maternal side of the family.

I am a descendent of pioneers of the Republic of Texas and a resident of the State of Texas. My ancestors, particularly the Johnson side, fought for this great State and lived to see it florish and grow. They saw it almost destroyed by the Civil War. I had ancestors who served in all conflicts, including the Revolutionary War. I am proud of all of them for standing up for what they believed in.

Memorials I have created and manage can be transferred to you if the decedent is your close relative and is not related to me.

I leave flowers for those who I have known, read about, knew of, or who have touched my life over the past many, many years. It is a continuing project of mine to try and leave flowers for those people before I join them in the hereafter.

Although it breaks my heart to unexpectedly find someone here in this virtual cemetery that I knew, it makes me feel good to know that they are at least being remembered by others that cared enough to create a memorial page for them here at Findagrave.

In a physical cemetery our loved ones graves are maintained by trimming the grass and leveling headstones usually around Memorial Day each year. In our online virtual cemeteries maintenance is required, too. If I transfer a memorial to you please "maintain the grave" by updating the memorial with more information and correcting mistakes. None of us are perfect and neither is the Internet.

Everyone deserves to be remembered even if it is only by digital means. We only live a short time. Earthly death is forever and our memories become short as time marches on.

I am always happy to assist other Find A Grave members, answer questions, share memories or share research.

Thank you!
