Since I cannot remember, cemeteries have had a sobering effect over me. This new opportunity to go out and search for graves is an exciting experience for both myself and my wife. It gives us a chance to serve those who have a need to somehow reach a beloved one who has departed. Iam a veteran of the Vietnam Era who served in the Us Air Force, trained in photographic systems, but that was a long time ago. Yet, my first assignment here was to find the grave of a fallen Puerto Rican hero: Gil Mercado killed in Iraq. Needless to say, I felt a lot of pride before, during and after completing the mission.
