Bio
As a child I was curious about the background of my family when looking at old photos, and where family members were buried, having made many trips to cemeteries with my mother on our traditional Memorial Day trips. Since I grew up in a neighborhood with many first cousins, along with aunts, uncles, and grandparents, while in grade school I would go around the neighborhood gathering dates of relatives' birthdays to be sure they were all written on a calendar. Guess that may have been the start of my family history recordings. Since 1976, I have been a dedicated researcher, taking trips to Salt Lake, NGS Conferences, Ntl. Archives and DAR Library in D.C., but one of my favorite research projects is as a volunteer helping to collect obits for proof of burial records for cemeteries in my area. Though I research my Hedges/Dieter lines, I have also gotten hooked on researching my husband's Jones/Neal families. I also research all things Kelton but then that is another story. Shirley Jones.
