The second child was Samuel Creath, the first born son, born November 15, 1794. He was named for his paternal grandfather and his uncle, Samuel Creath. He married Mary Waller, of Mecklenburg County, Va., and moved to Tennessee, and died; his wife is also dead. After his death, she married a Mr. Jones, by whom she had two sons, whom I saw in Memphis, Tenn. My brother had two sons; one of them was named James; and was a planter in Louisiana, before the war; the other lived near Memphis, Tenn. [Biography of William Elder Creath]
