He was a London tiler & bricklayer who married Eleanor White, daughter of John White, at St. Bride's Church in London. After their marriage they went with her father to America where Mr. White was to be the first governor of the Roanoke colony & also, per Queen Elizabeth I, an illistrator. Ananias & Eleanor became the parents of the first white child born in America - Virginia Dare. After Virginia's birth, Mr. White went home for more supplies & by the time he got back the Roanoke colony had disappeared - never to be seen or heard from again.
