Musician, Composer. Born in Uusikaupunki, Finland, he was a clarinetist-composer, who was Internationally known for his concertos and chamber music. In the late 1700s, he established himself as a clarinet soloist and was the principal clarinet with Sweden's Royal Court Orchestra. During this time in his career, he became increasingly well known as a clarinet soloist, not only in Sweden but also throughout Europe. As a composer, he established a relationship with the music publisher Bureau de Musique, which printed hundreds his of works for choirs, orchestras, marching bands and operas. He was inducted into the Literary Society Academy of Sweden in 1821, awarded a Gold Medal of Sweden and inducted into the Order of Vasa in 1837. He died at age 62 in Stockholm, Sweden.
