Lawrence Furman Ivey, Sr. age 85, of Proctorville, NC passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012. He was born August 13, 1926 and was a retired farmer, outdoorsman and faithful deacon and servant of Proctorville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Furman Ivey and Nolie Spivey-Ivey; sisters, Hilda McLean and Dixie Barrington; brother, David Ivey.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Betty Rhodes-Ivey of the home; a daughter, Deborah Hewitt and husband, Richard of Bladenboro, NC; two sons, Lawrence Furman Ivey, Jr. and wife Deborah of Orrum, NC and John Mark Ivey and wife Lisa of Smithfield, NC; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at Proctorville Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers: donations can be made to Proctorville Baptist Church P.O. Box 40 Proctorville, NC 28375.
