The 1900 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 4, Texas (Grayson County) shows Luke Turner Bybee, a farmer, age 18, born January 1882 in Kentucky; living with his brother, Smith Barlow Bybee, a farmer, age 27, born March 1873 in Kentucky; and his wife, Lou E. Bybee, age 25, born June 1874 in South Carolina. Also living in the household was Smith and Lou's child: Guthrie J. Bybee, age 10 months, born July 1899 in Texas.

In 1904 in Kentucky, Luther married Hester Belle Davis, who was born in April 7, 1885 in Kentucky. Luther and Hester had three known children: Emma Lee Bybee, Lowell Turner Bybee, and Lyon Bybee.

The U.S. World War I Draft Registration Cards show that Luther Turner Bybee registered for the draft on September 12, 1918. The 1920 Federal Census for Tulsa, Oklahoma (Tulsa County) shows Luther Turner Busbee, an oil rigger, age 37, born in Kentucky; and his wife, Hester Busbee, age 33, born in Kentucky. Living with them were three children: Emma Lee, age 7; Lowell Turner, age 5 years 22 months; and Lyon, age 3 years 11 months; all born in Texas.

Hester died March 30, 1923 in Grayson County, Texas. She was buried in Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, Texas (Grayson County). Luther married again to Pearl Forginia Smith Roberts. The 1940 Federal Census for Rural, Texas (Grayson County) shows Luther Bybee, a farmer, age 53, born in Kentucky; and his wife Pearl, age 45, born in Alabama. Living with them was Pearl's son by a former marriage, Joe Dickson, age 10, born in Texas.

Luther died January 30, 1958 in Grayson County, Texas and was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Denison, Texas (Grayson County). Pearl died in 1971 and was buried near her husband.
