David Ray Allen, "Ray", 60, of Annapolis died July 15 at his home surrounded by family, after a two year battle with cancer.
Born June 15, 1952 in Waycross, GA to Bertha and the late James "Jimmy" Allen, he graduated from Ware County High school in 1970 and went on to receive his Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from Cal State San Bernardino University.
Ray was employed as an Auditor with the Department of Defense. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was knowledgeable about movies and music, and was a talented drummer.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Christine; son, David; four daughters, Margaret Davis and her husband Kevin, Clare, Caitlin and Christina; his mother, Bertha, two brothers, Dale and Donald, and sister, Maryanne, all of Waycross, GA; and granddaughter, Delaney.
Friends may visit 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday July 18 at the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, July 19 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, Blackshear, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary's Center Inc., P.O. Box 1804, Pasadena, MD 21123.
