Much of her early life was spent in Europe; educated in Dresden, Paris & Rome. Fanny's family returned from Europe, living in California, before moving to Raleigh, NC, where her father was elected Bishop of the Episcopal Church.
When Fanny died, her husband was the Congressman from the Raleigh District of North Carolina; her son Albert was not quite two years old; and son Francis was born the day his mother died.
