Mrs. Isla Greer Brawner, 63, died Sunday at a Lawrenceburg Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 pm today at Locust Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant with Martin Lemon officiating.
A native of Hickman County, Mrs. Brawner was a daughter of the late Howell Greer and Mrs. Kate Taylor Greer Roth of Nashville. Her husband, William Brawner, died 19 years ago. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Annie G. House, Robbie G. Polk and a half-sister, Mable Roth.
Mrs. Brawner was a member of the Church of Christ.
Besides her mother, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Eva (Leon)Oxford of Summertown, Mrs. N. Bell (James)Hanback of Buchanan, MI; Mrs. Inez (Eugene) Adams, Hazel (W.A.) Cummins, and Mrs. Amy (Odell) Cummins, all of Mt. Pleasant. Four sons, R. Orin Brawner, Joe H. Brawner, Raymond H. Brawner, and Claude T. Brawner, all of Mt. Pleasant. Four sisters, Mrs. Bell Donahue of Chicago; Mrs. Frances (David) Startup, Mrs. Rita (Herman) Grizzard, Mrs. Katherine (Claude) Pearce all of Nashville.
Pallbearers were Dave Startup, Herman Grizzard, Claude Pearce, Carl Clayton, Leslie Cummins and David Stephens.
Burial was at Arlington with Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
