My Grandfather William Coats was Born on Nov. 8,1913 in Parksville TN. he was married to Jean Smith and enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and served with the 654th Tank Destroyer Bat. My Grandfather fought on Omaha Beach on June 6,1944 which is known as D-DAY. and aslo at St. Lo. France where he was wounded in the knee by German tank shrapnel and received the Purple heart, WW2 victory medal and the Atlantic/N.African campain medals. in 1946 my granddad and grandmother had one son Rob(my dad). Bill is survived by his wife Jean, son Rob, Daughter in Law Kathy, grandson Ben, granddaughter Bethany and greatgranddaughter Kaia.
